Job Purpose We require a qualified accountant (or similar experience) to manage a portfolio of clients within our outsourcing team. The successful candidate will be expected to prepare management accounts, VAT returns, etc. for manager/partner review with minimal supervision. The candidate will be responsible for managing and planning their work to meet client deadlines. This portfolio tends to include the more complicated and technical assignments requiring a high level of experience and competence. We need someone to transfer and build on existing client relationships, seek to improve the efficiency of the existing and to ensure that our clients continue to receive an exceptional level of service. Clients The outsourcing department provides services to a wide range of owner managed businesses with particular specialisms within the hospitality and leisure, retail and recruitment sectors. Job Role The successful candidate will be responsible for
• To provide a high quality service to the Outsourcing department's client base.
• Take ownership and responsibility for clients and assignments in portfolio to free up manager time
• Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts some of which are complex in nature
• Processing VAT returns for manager review
• Monitor and assisting our processing staff to ensure that bookkeeping records are ready in time for management accounts and VAT preparation.
• Plan and monitor own work load to ensure client deadlines are met
• To assist the Outsourcing department in growing its client portfolio.
• Working as part of the Outsourcing team to deliver high quality services to clients, within set timescales.
• Dealing with clients as required relating to the outsourcing work.
• Reporting in a timely and accurate manner to client queries.
• Communicating effectively with our other service lines to increase cross-referred business.
• Keeping manager informed of progress and any issues arising.
• Raising the profile of the firm by ensuring clients are fully satisfied by the service and support they receive and that they are aware of all other services.
• Communicating and dealing with clients and colleagues professionally and courteously. Person Specification We anticipate that this role is best suited to a qualified accountant or someone with a similar level of skills and experience. The successful candidate must have good experience of
• Xero & related apps
• Sage 50 accounts
• Management accounts preparation and month end accounting adjustments
• Bank processing and reconciliation
• Maintaining fixed asset registers and calculating depreciation
• Preparation of simple management accounts including all accounting adjustments e.g. prepayments, accruals
• Microsoft Office software especially Excel, Word and Outlook. We are also looking for someone with the following qualities
