Audit Director needed for fantastic regional accountancy practice based in Preston . This role has been created due to the continued success of the firm who are a top 50 practice. Qualified accountant with strong audit background to become an RI for the specialist audits within Professional Practices team within the Corporate department. Run a portfolio of clients as relationship manager, which is a mixture of professional clients and general corporate clients. Work with other Preston Corporate Directors, team leaders and Partners delivering client service and managing resources. Manage a team of staff and be an ICAEW Student Counsellor. Carry out business development activities such as networking, potential new client meetings, tender and fee quote preparation, writing technical articles and blogs, videos. Technical support to the Partner and ensuring staff maintain high technical standards, including file reviews. Completing ad hoc project work. Duties and
responsibilities:
To look after a substantial portfolio in terms of fees and numbers of clients, being responsible for the quality of the overall service. To take responsibility for clients, generate fees, add to the department USP's in terms of knowledge, skills, reputation etc. To become an audit RI for statutory audit, SRA Accounts Rules audit, CLC audit, other client money audits, grant audit. To lead managers and teams of staff in the delivery of profitable business through effective management of working practices. To lead, develop and motivate managers and teams of people, providing support and development through on the job coaching and appraisals. To develop own personal relationships with clients, using own network of contacts and relationships to develop business. Essential Skills: External audit experience at a senior level Ability to make good decisions in a timely and confident manner Take action to support and implement change initiatives effectively Seeking opportunities to improve current processes, systems and methods to promote reliability, quality and efficiency of output Recognising and understanding clients' needs and delivering in a manner that exceeds clients' expectations Directing and leading others to accomplish the firm's goals and objectives Desirable Skills: Experience of working with solicitors and other professional practices. Experience of completing SRA Accounts Rules audit work. Experience in preparing tax computations for limited companies, partnerships, individuals. Familiar with both paper based and IT based auditing systems.
