The Commercial Analyst will be responsible for developing robust and effective relationships with a number of key stakeholders, and will play a key role in the delivery of insightful and accurate financial information. Role The primary focus will be on revenue & margin reporting, forecasting and budgeting, performance analysis, competitive analysis & market intelligence, management and support, and assisting with the continued development of our business. Manage and manipulate financial and operational data to provide insightful management information to enable the Board to fully understand the business and make key strategic decisions. Developing a suite of meaningful KPI reports, evolving them continuously as the need to understand the business is ever changing. Ownership of the operational accounting of the business (Stock, revenue, costs of sales, commissions, rebates, pricing (including discounts)) Reconciliations, forecasting and budgeting Support Product Management to undertake bench-marking/competitor analysis to ensure competitiveness of offering and to optimise our price and commercial position Produce regular reports for the senior management team Maintenance of customer agreements - creating and maintaining of all customer discount including margin analysis, flagging when discounts/rebates are due for renewal, informing the appropriate channels and implementation Provide information to Product Management to facilitate the understanding of customer trends, highlighting variances in performance which are occurring and sharing insight. Supporting the various internal Stakeholders by providing regular analytical review of trends to maximise profit and streamline revenue, including interrogation of historical financial data to provide insights into customer behaviour Responding to ad-hoc requests for information from the business and senior management. Profile Strong background in financial and business analysis / management accounts Proven experience of being adaptable and working closely with senior members of an organisation to drive the business forward Advanced excel skills Advanced IT knowledge Numerate & analytical - experience of working with costing, turnover & margins Experience of working in a manufacturing environment Educated to a degree level in numerical/scientific disciple Excellent communication skills Strong problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills Strong numerical skills Ability to develop effective relationships both internally and externally Ability to analyse complex information to propose and implement recommendations whilst making sound decisions Ability to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines Ability to create high level presentations of analytical work Ability to translate complex analysis for non-technical audience Ability to take large volumes of raw data and convert into meaningful, insightful business reporting Company The company, a well regarded manufacturer with consistent growth over the last 5 years is currently entering a phase of further strategic planning, with a view to break £50m turnover in the next couple of years.
