Job Vacancy - Accounts Assistant Job Dimensions The Finance Department is part of the Business Support Services Division. They are responsible for providing strategic, management and operational financial support to the Firm. The Department is made up of a Credit Control Team and an Accounts Team, both of which have recently been restructured to better support the business. Further improvements in the form of a new accounting system are also underway, providing an opportunity to get involved in the various stages of testing and implementation. Job Purpose To provide support to the Financial Accountant in preparing and analysing the financials of the business. You would also be acting as back up to the Purchase Ledger Clerk in their absence. To further assist the Department, there will be an opportunity to study AAT and study support will be provided. Key Duties and Responsibilities Processing bank transactions across approximately five accounts. Processing credit cards and petty cash for the business. Bank administration such as completing authority forms and credit card application forms. Checking, processing and payment of employee expenses. Review and clear Purchase Ledger reports on a regular basis. Provide back up for the Purchase Ledger Clerk in their absence. Annual employee subscriptions to RICs; liaising with employees and suppliers to pay their subscription renewal. Ad hoc one-off payments. Raising sundry sales invoices on an ad hoc basis. Processing month end journals. Support the Financial Accountant and two Management Accountants with month end tasks as necessary. Assisting in the annual Audit process. Ad hoc duties as and when necessary. For example, cost analysis.
