The Role Optima Professional Services are currently recruiting for an experienced Payroll Clerk to work on permanent basis. You will be working within a busy Accounts Department and your day to duties will be: The Candidate Process payroll for the company and each of their Management companies ensuring they meet their pay deadlines each pay period Maintain the payroll processing system including all required updates Collect, calculate and update employees' information each month Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in timesheet and payroll records in a timely manner Complete pension auto-enrolment payroll administration in a timely manner and in line with auto enrolment deadlines and complete data upload of Pension contributions Ensure confidentiality of employees' pay records always Provide monthly reports and ensure managerial review Provide payslips and process payments to employees each month Handle employee questions about wages, deductions, attendance, and time records Complete RTI HMRC return and organise payment to required timescales The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a Payroll Clerk in a similar environment and will have: Have a proven track record of working in a similar payrolling position Understanding of Tax / NI / Parenting Pay calculations Understanding of auto-enrolment pension procedures Excellent attention to detail & organisational skill Good verbal communication Able to work with minimal supervision Able to work deadlines Would need to hold a full drivers' license and have a car
