Financial Controller Leicester C £70,000k DOE Are you looking for a generalist hands on Financial Controller role where you can continue to develop your career? The Company: Eileen Richards Recruitment are working exclusively with our client based in Leicester. Our client, who specialise in the construction industry but work across a variety of sectors, are seeking a Management Accountant to join their vibrant and enthusiastic team. Role & Responsibilities of the Financial Controller: Liaise with contract department staff on works timesheet & with departmental managers to obtain information and explanations to complete monthly reports. Liaise with other team members to resolve issues related to the processing of data and support other team members when required. Liaise with other management staff over the implementation and use of ERP software. Liaise with the auditors for annual accounts purposes. Managing and arranging sign off of employee expenses. Preparation of monthly admin and works payroll, along with management information. Production of Job Profitability reports. Prepare monthly HMRC returns for both PAYE/NIC and CIS, & monthly returns for other deductions (pensions, court orders etc.). Preparing quarterly VAT returns & preparing annual returns to CITB for levy purposes. Monitoring legislative returns for date compliance. Managing daily IT system backups. Act as the senior cashier and liaising with deputy cashier on daily basis. Monitoring Invoice discounting reports and draw-downs. Assist on ledger reconciliations for major account both supplier / customer. Manage and control staff purchases and recovery through payroll, along with managing/controlling petty cash balances as necessary. Maintain accurate holiday records. Distribute incoming post to relevant departments. Liaise with bank and auditors as necessary. Attend ad hoc meetings as necessary & management meetings / seminars as required. Prepare ad hoc government departmental statistic returns. About You as the Management Accountant: Degree level qualification in Accounting or equivalent, and must be prepared to undertake further training appropriate to developments in professional practice and the introduction of new technology. Able to demonstrate previous experience of working as a successful accountant within the Construction industry. The ability to effectively communicate with new and existing Clients, Suppliers, Contracts Managers and Subcontractors, also to negotiate and influence in order to manage costs. The ability to prioritise and meet deadlines as well as to gather and record accurate information. The ability to develop and maintain good working relationships. Good numeracy, literacy and presentation skills. Good ICT skills including use of Microsoft Office, Mainstream ERP Software - preferably COINS. Excellent organisational and problem solving skills. The ability to work within a team and use own initiative, along with demonstrating flexibility. To demonstrate passion, desire and determination to succeed.
