Your opportunity Opportunities exist for assistant managers to join our South East external audit team, based in our St Albans or Reading offices, working with clients in London and the South East. Prior experience of working with similar organisations is desirable but not a requirement. Assistant managers will join our South East Public Sector team. Our portfolio of clients served by this team has grown considerably in recent years and we work with many of the largest and most complex organisations in the sectors that we work with. This growth provides significant opportunities for development and career progression of our new assistant managers. Our diverse client portfolio, together with the opportunities to perform wider assurance and advisory services for these clients, present a unique experience and particularly interesting opportunities for our new assistant managers to develop. Through our mentoring and development programme, we work with our assistant managers to build on their interests and support them in their progression to more senior levels. We have an excellent team culture with an active social committee. There are plenty of opportunities for our new team members to get to know their colleagues and quickly become an integrated part of our team. Your role Responsibilities will include:

Many of our clients are based in London or within an hour of our St. Albans and Reading offices, however the role may involve travel across the South East and will require flexibility around peak times during the year. Your work, your choice How long does impact take? How long is a piece of string? How many seconds does a solution contain? How can we possibly tell? After all, impact can be huge or small. Immediate or years in the making. At Deloitte we believe the best impact is the value we add, not the hours we sit at our desk. We, therefore, carefully consider agile ways of working, both formal and informal, that allow for the best impact for our people and our clients. If the working pattern you are looking for is not specifically indicated below, we are happy to discuss alternative arrangements. Locations: St Albans Suggested work pattern: Permanent full-time Your professional experience To qualify for the role you must:
• Be educated to degree level or have relevant professional experience; and
• Have a professional accounting or management consulting qualification (e.g. ACA/CIMA). Personal skills should include:

• Experience of field managing external audit engagements;
• Excellent oral and written communication, including experience of report writing;
• Planning and project management skills;
• Being a good team player/leader with strong organisational skills;
• A proactive approach to problem solving; and
• A high level of motivation with a proven ability to work on your own initiative within a fast paced environment. Your service line Audit and Assurance An imperative for all at Deloitte, innovation lives in Audit and Assurance as fully as in any other field. From process automation to reframing our team structure, we're on a constant drive for positive transformation - for our clients and our people. With robots now taking care of routine tasks here, for example, you're free to focus on what you do best: interpreting information, collaborating and communicating. You won't be limited by sector experience either; we recognise that your skills and knowledge, wherever you gained them, can have a positive impact anywhere. You'll work across subsectors, and with colleagues throughout the firm, to give clients the information and insights they need to make great decisions.
