Position Summary:
This position provides support to both the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Controllership functions of the EMEA finance department. The role will deliver financial analysis, business decision support and performance management for the NBA’s operations in Europe, Middle East and Africa. You will also be required to develop an understanding of the company’s accounting ledgers and systems to help own the ongoing accuracy of the region’s financial reporting.
Major Responsibilities:
- Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting exercises
- Deliver ongoing operating performance management
- Business partner with various functions (notably the Events and Marketing functions) to support their budgeting and expense tracking, with extra focus/analysis on key projects
- Support the revenue pipeline process from capturing the initial opportunity, due diligence and progressing it through the deal approval system to the point of contract signing
- Perform monthly revenue reconciliations
- Review the various reporting and analysis to ensure the accuracy of accounting entries impacting the region, posting journal entries where necessary to improve accuracy
- Support Finance and EMEA Business Development teams with ad-hoc analysis
- Review/develop financial models and provide feedback from both an analytical and commercial perspective
- Work with the Business Insights Manager to help transition some of our management reporting from excel into a cloud dashboard
- Communicate and present analysis to management
Required Skills & Experience:
- Fully qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA / CFA preferred
- Advanced Excel financial modeling experience
- Ability to understand and edit Excel VBA macros preferred
- Experience of working with accounting ledger systems (particularly SAP) preferred
- Excellent social, communication and presentation skills
- Dedicated willingness and strong collaboration, task prioritization and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail is critical as well as the ability to learn quickly and make valuable contributions by applying analytical and business fundamentals
- BA / BS Degree and minimum of 3 years meaningful experience
- Prior sports, media, entertainment and/or international experience preferred
