Salary:
£20,000 to £28,000 depending on experience Closing date for applications: 15th February, 2019 About the role: We need to ensure our pricing is right for our customer and the business but also competitive. The pricing team carry out detailed analysis and statistical modelling to help optimise prices of our insurance products. Tasks will include: - Using software such as SQL, Excel and R to produce and manipulate data sets for modelling and analysis. - Producing, analysing and interpreting management information relating to performance of insurance products. - Effectively communicating the impact of pricing actions to the wider business. - Investigating and responding to queries from other areas of the business relating to pricing. - Carrying out statistical modelling using GLMs and machine learning techniques. About you: You may be an existing analyst looking for a new challenge or you may be a recent graduate who has a passion for numbers and working with data, either way, if you have passion and drive and have a degree within a numerate subject that you would like to utilize this could be the position for you. Although experience working within General Insurance would be beneficial, it is not essential. What is key is that you have a proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and a genuine interest in data analytics. We would be particularly interested in candidates with: - A degree in a numerate subject. - Knowledge of general insurance, and travel insurance in particular. - Experience working with large datasets. - Interest / experience with statistical modelling and machine learning techniques. - Experience of programing languages such as SQL, Python and R. - Strong Excel skills. - Excellent communication skills.
