Hays are currently working closely with one of the UK's biggest consumer media organisations and are looking for an experienced Management Accountant for an 8-month assignment, reporting to the Financial Controller. Your new role

You will be covering the key Management Accountant while they are on maternity leave. You will be supporting business managers and both local and national finance teams. Within the assignment you'll be expected to have knowledge about and perform:

• Monthly and Quarterly VAT reports
• VAT deferment & duty - checking against monthly invoicing
• Preparation of management accounts
• Accruals and payments
• Posting Payroll into the accounts
• Bank reconciliation
• Providing cover for the Accounts Payable Clerk and Financial Controller where applicable

What you'll need to succeed

As the successful candidate you will be expected to have a solid academic background and a be Part-Qualified Accountant (ACCA or CIMA) or to be Qualified by Experience. Experience in handling VAT is essential as you will be working with the London Tax Department completing returns with limited support from the local team. A god understanding of Payroll (reports, calculations, postings); month end procedures including balance sheet reconciliation, creating/posting journals and must have an eye for detail and have demonstrated the ability to stick to tight deadlines is also essential.

Due to the fact you will be occasionally travelling to different sites a full clean driving licence is needed as well as access to your own car.

What you'll get in return

You will receive a healthy salary of up to £35,000 Per Annum dependant on experience. You will also receive full access to the staffing areas and free onsite parking is available.
