Local Government Finance Manager, Finance Business Partner, Qualified Accountant

A local council in Suffolk has an exciting senior level job vacancy for a qualified accountant to join their team as a Senior Finance Business Partner leading their transactional and regulatory team. they are looking for a dynamic team manager to play a key role in shaping the finance team and assisting the organisation to achieve its strategic objectives.

Your new role
This role combines a high level of technical expertise with multi-tier management and proactive support in the day to day running of the transactional and regulatory team within the wider finance team.You will provide high quality strategic advice and direction on financial strategies enabling services to make well-informed decisions and work closely with services in a business partner capacity. You will be an expert in capital, treasury management, VAT, tax, investments, year-end processes and cash flow management.

What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will be CCAB/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent) and a strong people manager. You will have excellent attention to detail and an effective communicator with both internal and external stakeholders. They are looking for someone who can deliver change and manage a diverse workload with conflicting deadlines.

The role is based in both Bury St Edmunds and Mildenhall and travel between both sites is essential.


What you'll get in return
The salary banding is between £44,000 - £50,000 dependant on experience and offers an excellent pension (worth around 20%) and holidays. There are also flexible working opportunities available.
