Controllership Accountant (18 month contract)

Financial Accountant - Utilities - £40-45k per annum (18 month contract) - West Midlands


Hays are currently working in partnership in one of the largest utility companies in the world; recruiting for a new live role as a Financial Accountant within their controllership team. With a more commercial focus, this financial accounting role is interesting and involves using your accounting knowledge to problem solve and really drive business performance. This is a 18 month contract on a temp to perm basis.

The role predominantly involves financial accounting and business partnering - reporting results from the transactional European shared service centre to the financial director in the UK, analysing the movement predominantly within the receivables and payable accounts and determining whether customers and suppliers are being paid. The hiring manager is seeking someone who is willing to put their hands to anything as the role has an exciting element of creativity and diversity.

This role is perfect for someone who strives for diversity in a role, as the company allows movement within the finance team, developing skills in financial analysis, financial reporting and business partnering. This role would be perfect for a first time mover out of practice who is yet to decide where to specialise their career in a financial industry role. In addition, experience in management of people will be developed by having two direct reports.
