Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working in partnership with a rapidly expanding business based in Stirling to recruit an Assistant Accountant. The Assistant Accountant is a key member of the Finance team, supporting the Group Finance Manager. The successful candidate will assist in the preparation of management accounts for one or more of the portfolio businesses and will take ownership of all processing and bookkeeping activities. The main duties and responsibilities will involve: Vat preparation and submission Maintain fixed asset registers Provide financial information for Board meetings Support the annual budget-setting process Process purchase invoices and payment runs Dealing with suppliers to resolve queries and ensure a smooth working relationship Assist with the production of monthly management information Performing bank reconciliations Assist with credit control Annual audit stat accounts production support Ensure accounting paperwork maintained and appropriately filed and archived Undertake other duties as may reasonably be required of you by the Group Finance Manager or Group Finance Director The role of Assistant Accountant requires a confident individual with proven experience of taking ownership of transactional processing and taking accounts to trial balance. The successful candidate will be able to build effective relationships across the group and will be able to liaise confidently with external suppliers. This individual will have the determination to play a key role in a fast-growing business. A summary of the key candidate requirements are as follows: Strong work ethic, attention to detail and the willingness to take accountability Confidence and strong interpersonal skills Demonstrate the ability to work meticulously and accurately Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle changing workload priorities First class communications skills both written and verbal IT literacy (database, internet, spreadsheet and word processing) Experience of Sage and/or Xero accounting software Evidence of a positive, proactive and flexible approach Energetic and resilient

Salary:
£20,000 - £27,000 (depending on experience) Pension: Employer's contribution of 3% of annual salary rising to 4% in April 2019 and 5% in April 2020 dependent on business performance. Holidays: 20 days plus 8 statutory days. 1 additional day for each complete year of service up to a max of 25 days. Life Cover: Death in service benefit of 2 x annual salary Working hours: 38 hrs pw with core hours of 9.30am to 4.00pm
