Studios Leavesden (WBSL) is a purpose built, state-of-the-art film and television studio offering one of the largest facilities in the UK. This 200 acre secure site has a quarter of a million square feet of stage space, back-lot tank, one of the largest heated underwater filming tanks in Europe and a 100 acre back-lot. WBSL has a collection of fourteen sound stages, some of which are the largest in the UK. The site also has its own, on-site Production Rentals division, which provides the industry with state-of-the-art lighting equipment, scaffolding and production supplies for stage and location shoots. WB De Lane Lea based in Soho, London, provides state of the art facilities in audio post production for feature films and television. These facilities make Warner Bros. Entertainment the only Hollywood studio to own and operate a production and post production facility in the U.K. Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter showcases the authentic sets, special effects and behind-the-scenes secrets of the Harry Potter film series. Located at the Studios where all eight films were produced. Platform 9¾ - WBSL has recently acquired the Platform 9¾ business, which includes the iconic retail location at Kings Cross, in addition to airport stores and merchandising for the Cursed Child. Primary purpose of the role: An exciting opportunity has arisen following the acquisition of the Platform 9¾ business by WBSL. The position works within the Finance of the WBSL Business Unit and will be responsible for ensuring the statutory compliance of all Platform 9¾ companies, including filing of accounts and managing the audit of all statutory entities acquired. It will also be responsible for ensuring the VAT compliance of all statutory entities. In addition, the role will assist with implementing a month end close process, calculation of KPIs, analysis and control activities including monthly internal management reporting to local and Burbank management, safeguarding Company assets and ensuring GAAP and SOX compliance. The role reports into and works closely with the WBSL Financial Controller. Essential Job Functions: Supervision of Responsibility to manage all statutory audits including all information requests to ensure a smooth process and timely filing of statutory accounts across all Platform 9¾ entities Responsibility to ensure the timely filing of all VAT returns across all Platform 9¾ entities Liaison with the WB UK London Corporate Finance group on all compliance matters Working closely with the Warner Media tax group to ensure that all Corporation Tax returns are completed and filed on a timely basis Ensure all tax payments are made on a timely basis in line with statutory filings Work closely with the Financial Controller to implement a month end process to generate accurate P&L results for all cost/profit centres Assist Financial Controller to implement budget and planning process to enable comparison of monthly financial results budget/ forecast and provide to Burbank and management in line with other WB businesses Assist Financial Controller to design and implement appropriate monthly KPI reporting and any daily reporting as required Support the Financial Controller to ensure all royalties calculations are prepared accurately and on a timely basis and payments made appropriately as required Support the Financial Controller to ensure all variable rental costs are calculated accurately and paid on a timely basis in line with lease contracts Work closely with the FC to oversee the day to day operational finance activities Work closely with both the FC and FD to present the monthly results to Senior Management in Burbank at various meetings Support FC in Balance Sheet reviews and reconciliations as required Ensure SOX compliance as required Work closely with the Financial Controller to identify, assess and prioritise improvements to: Processes Controls Reporting Systems Business decisions and activities Work closely with auditors and be the key day to day point of contact Forge strong working relationships with the wider WB organization in London and Burbank Selection Criteria Experience in a similar or related role working within a fast paced, rapidly growing retail business preferred Able to manage conflicting priorities and tight deadlines to ensure key deliverables are met Audit experience Detail oriented with the ability to keep focused on the big picture Desire to produce accurate, reliable and high quality work in a timely manner Good knowledge of SAP and SAGE 200 Good working knowledge of Excel Previous experience of US GAAP desirable Previous experience of SOX audit and compliance is preferable.
