Business Analyst - Eastern Hemisphere Department: Finance Reports To: As designated; Senior Business Analyst - Eastern Hemisphere Company: Edgen Murray SUMMARY Responsible for assisting the Group Finance team and EH Commercial teams with data requirements, business plans, presentations and systems/reporting analysis in order to deliver key information for the growth and development of the business. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Preparation and analysis of key data for use in business plans, commercial strategy proposals, presentations and post project analysis for delivery to Senior Management. Develop robust understanding of commercial systems in order to retrieve key data and reports and suggest enhancements for the benefit of the commercial team, whilst also providing support on system queries. Assist in the preparation of project documentation including business plans, strategies, work flow/process improvement documentation, project updates, step-plans and reports. Develop new and improve existing commercial reports that will assist the commercial teams to grow their business. Assist in the budget and forecast processes including submission of figures, communication with regional finance teams, monitoring of progress and preparation of analysis documents. Assist in the month end close process, primarily in the preparation and posting of consolidation adjustments, completion of consolidated schedules for Sumitomo and flash and actuals reports. Ownership of weekly and monthly management reports for Sumitomo and internal management. Assist Regional Finance Controllers and Group Finance, as required, with statutory accounts, budgeting, reforecasting, inventory reporting, analysis and other ad hoc tasks Assist regional finance teams with process improvements, ensuring that procedures are updated and understood by the business Perform inventory write-downs in Stratix for EME and PTE ORGANIZATIONAL SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES Dependability: Punctual; Good attendance record; Work with minimal supervision and direction; Can be counted on to handle special duties; Follow-up on issues without prompting; Meet deadlines. PREFFERED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Some knowledge of finance/accounting and commercial & financial systems Some commercial awareness COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficient knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel Experience using Oracle, or a similar accounting package would be an advantage Experience using an ERP system would be an advantage
