Financial Controller

Summary

A rare opportunity to join a rapidly growing energy tech start-up at the ground floor, my client is a new breed of energy supplier, looking to harness technology to improve the way electricity and gas is consumed, saving our customer’s money and the planet at the same time. Key qualifications and skills:

Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA or ACCA)

At least 5 years post qualified experience in industry

Technically strong at statutory reporting (UKGAAP)

Strong working knowledge and practical experience of Corporation Tax, VAT and PAYE

Strong Microsoft excel skills

Experience in both effectively managing and building a team

Highly numerical and comfortable with handling large data sets

Tasks:

Developing a deep understanding of the industry specific costs

Overseeing the month-end process and reporting to the FD

Working closely with the in-house development team to automate reporting processes

Weekly cashflow forecasting

Regular gross margin reporting and forecasting to aid price decision process

Managing the day to day operations of the finance department

Coordinating the annual statutory audit

Assisting with the continued growth of the finance function

Recruiting staff for the growth of the finance function

Continual process improvement

Regular industry reporting

Overseeing and improving the treasury function
