Description

Working as a Assistant Accountant in Harlow you will be reporting directly into the Commercial Finance Controller. You will be responsible in assisting with key duties to ensure the smooth running of the finance function for this important subsidiary. Duties will include and grow to:

• Assisting with the Group's month-end and year-end P&L close process and divisional reporting

• Working capital reporting process

• Balance sheet analysis reviews at legal entity and divisional level

• Month-end accounting for centrally managed tasks completed within processing deadlines

• Production and submission of monthly reporting packs according to a strict deadline

• Production of monthly cash flow statement including an 18 month cash flow forecast, for submission along with the monthly reporting pack

• Review and analysis of monthly balance sheet reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts

• Fixed assets accounting and register maintenance on SAP

• Production of the year end reporting pack; audit files and dealing with audit queries

• Various reporting and analysis requests from senior management, including the CFO and Group Financial Controller including the Head of Group Management Reporting.

Profile

This role will partner with the Financial Controller, that needs an Assistant Accountant that is clear, concise and well-thought out presentation skills are essential. Candidates must be able to demonstrate tenacity, flexibility and to be able to quickly grasp and interpret business requirements to support with adequate reporting.

• Be part qualified (ACCA or CIMA) or looking to commence studies in the near future
• Have exposure to journal processing
• Have a clear understanding of debits and credits
• Have strong Excel skills to include v look ups and pivot tables
• Have strong communication skills to be able to communicate with stakeholders at all levels both internally and externally
