Credit Risk Analysts in Aldermore's Risk department play a key role in ensuring we balance our growth with robust risk management and controls, supported by effective governance, policies and procedures. The Role We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Group Risk team in Wilmslow as a Credit Risk Analyst. Within this role you will be responsible for the development and provision of meaningful insight and analysis across the bank. The Credit Risk team are very dynamic, with a great culture, if you like working in a fast-paced environment this is the role for you. The Credit Risk Analyst is also responsible for supporting the maintenance, development and enhancement of the regular reporting routines and to identify opportunities and mitigate risk/loss in order to enhance the overall profitability of the business, along with ensuring that regulatory reporting submission data is accurate. The Credit Risk Analyst role will predominantly focus on the different mortgage portfolios initially, but with the potential to expand into other areas, including business finance and savings. Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities include Prepare, develop and provide regular, appropriate and timely portfolio monitoring MI and analysis to inform the business, identify variances and trends, identify risk concentrations within the portfolio and influence, support and develop origination and portfolio management strategies to maximise opportunities within risk appetite. Use data, quantitative analysis and knowledge of the portfolio to influence and drive positive change and effective strategic decisions. Monitor, evaluate and assess all aspects of risk strategy. Support and assist with the auditing of external data submissions to regulators and industry bodies and ensure the process remain efficient. Support the Credit Risk Manager and Head of Portfolio Management and Regulatory Reporting through the preparation of product/strategy papers and proposals for review/submission to relevant credit committees. Monitor developments across the credit industry and make use of external market data available to benchmark performance and inform analysis and/or recommendations where appropriate. Experience required Direct and recent experience of credit risk related matters including data mining and analytical and/or scoring techniques. A working knowledge of SAS or SQL would be desirable Highly numerate and analytical, with an aptitude for problem solving Excellent written and verbal communication skill Self-motivated, with a thirst challenge Team Player Hard working with high attention to detail Qualifications Degree in Math's, Statistics or Economics is desirable but not essential.
