Your responsibility will be to oversee aspects of Finance and to report into the owners. The position will involve operating alongside other areas of the business to identify how to drive continuous improvement throughout business processes.

Although you will be tasked to oversee Finance, we are looking for someone who considers themselves as a self-starter with a positive attitude for their work.

Client Details

The business is a rapidly growing SME in the Solihull area. They are a family owned business who import bespoke products from abroad and approach both domestic and foreign markets with their products. They supply both trade businesses and buyers online as they are looking to start increasing performance through ecommerce.

They have recruited individuals recently for other areas of the business, increasing their head-count to just over 20 people across the warehouse and office.

Description

The role requires a self-starter who can find solutions to issues as they arise. It is envisaged that the finance function will grow as the business grows, and therefore there will be team management responsibilities in the future. The owners are looking to recruit a full-time accountant to support the management team in day to day finance responsibilities and to grow and develop with the business over the coming years.

Some of the responsibilities will focus on cash-flow including bank reconciliations and forecasting as well as processing purchase/sales ledger through Sage 200.

Monthly management accounts will also need to be prepared for both sides of the business (ecommerce and trade) and there will be an expectation to get involved with the year-end accounts for external accountants.

Process invoices for both customers and external parties including shipping companies. Experience of importing product from overseas and managing foreign currency transactions would be beneficial to the role but not essential.

Profile

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate an engaging attitude to work starting at interview stage.

Qualified or Qualified by Experience accountant.

Experience of working within ecommerce is preferred but not essential.

Sage 200 or Sage 50 experience.
